    Benchmarking question for MX owners

I am interested in how the new Nvidia MX chipset compares at low resolution (640 x 480 x 16 and 800 x 600 x 16 only) with a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP. For this comparison, I'm only interested in Direct3D performance without T&L support (obviously the MX would blow the Voodoo away with T&L support enabled).

So, is there any way you can D3D benchmark with, say 3DMark 2000 with T&L turned off? Or if you can't turn it off, is there some other benchmark you can run for me that doesn't support GPU hardware T&L?

    Thanks

I'm not sure if you can turn it off; I was bored a few minutes ago and ran the default demo.

On a p2-450, I got 3500+ score; much improved from my 1200+ score but others with more modern equip can expect scores in the 6k-7k range.

You may want to try sisoft sandra2k for non gpu tests...

Actually, if anyone still has 3DMark99, they could run that. Huge, that's an interesting score. My 667 gives 3DMark 2000 score of 3600 on the Voodoo3 at 800 x 600 x 16. T&L worth 2 hundred and a bit megahertz?

I think that under the options in 3dmark2k you can turn off hardware t&l (you can set it to either SSE or 3DNOW, depending on which cpu you have)
Dont know for sure, but this should give a more fair benchmark, as the cpu is left to do the t&l.
You need to ask people to run the benchmark this way, to get a better picture, but the speed of the cpu will play a big part in the results.

    I was running at 1280x1024...

Good luck running anything like this!
