A benchmark that means something and isn't totally biased for a little used graphics feature (hardware T&L), and an engine that runs smoothly would also be nice.
What would I like to see? Well... a good score for starters
For some reason an Athlon 500 and a PCI Banshee don't give as much punch as they used to Perhaps a GeForce 2 MX/ATI Radeon will help (at least a little)...

BR- I dunno... my guess is that kind of rig could give it a run... 9k+ but not 10k would be my personal guess...
USSV- any card with T&L will increase your 3DMark scores IMMENSELY over what your Banshee will do... as BR was saying, 3DMark2K is very favorable towards T&L... 3DMark2000 aside, an upgrade in video card will unleash your Athlon... even your 500 Athy is being held back by that Banshee... a Geforce/2/MX/Radeon/V3+ would definitely breathe a lot of new life into your system. That Banshee is a lead weight 'round the neck of your box!

USSV, you should replace that Banshee, my dad had a Banshee in his Athy 650 (a little quicker than yours I know but there we are) and it not only slowed it down but actually caused it to be quite unstable. Replaced the Banshee with a V3 1K and now it's much more solid as well as faster in graphics apps.
I would like to see a bench which actually RUNS on most G-Cards instead of having a different issue with almost every card you think of. I would also like to see a benchmark which reflects real world performance a bit better (ie, everything except 3dMARK2K gets a boost of 3fps or so from Detonator 3 (6.18) drivers on my GeForce DDR, 3DMARK takes a hit of 300points)

they should make the girl look better like in final fantasy 7 (tifa looks really hot for a low level 3d model) The girl in 3dmark2000 is butt ugly...ewwwww. She should have long hair and a face makeover.
