g400, win2k & VIA chipset = bad combination?
I just got a new motherboard, MSI 694D Pro, with two PIII 800EB processors, and reinstalled win2k... everything seems fine except when I try to install the matrox drivers for my g400 (max). I can use the older drivers (packaged as w2k504) but if I install the newer ones (eg beta w2k510 or w2k511) windows crashes just before the login screen appears.
The newer drivers are much better, and worked perfectly before I changed the motherboard. I have tried updating the bios on the g400 and also on the motherboard. I've also installed the chipset agp gart update.
Can anyone help? Any ideas to help me get the newer drivers working would be great.
