is there any way to get 16 bit color or higher for compaq LTE 5380 laptop?

Hi everybody. I bought a used compaq lte 5380 laptop and it only has 256 colors with a 1024X768 display. Is it at all possible to get more colors?? Is it possible to do anything at all??
