GoGoCity.com has a 19-inch Optiquest Q95 with a 0.23 dotpitch for about 330. I have one and I really like it.

are you talking CND or US?
i personally think that Viewsonic makes a good moniter and they have many to choose from.
people that drive slow are easy to pass, it's people who drive fast that provide a challange.

I got a Sony E200 (Trinitron FD) for $349.99. It's PC World's #1 Rated 17" Monitor. From my standpoint, it's a great monitor. Everything is crisp and clear and extremely well designed. When purchasing a monitor you should definately spend some cash because you're obviously gonna be staring at it a lot. Sony is more expensive than others but what you get in return is better quality and worksmanship.

I have the Iiyama Visonmaster Pro 410, it uses the Mitsubishi Diamondtron NF screen (direct competitior to Sony's Trinitron). To tell you the truth, I cant tell the difference between mine and a Trinitron monitor, and it is SOOOO flat. IIyama is known for quality components as well.
It should be priced somewhere in the $340-$360 range.

For me it would be anything with a Trinitron tube and FLAT (or near flat) screen.

I just sold my 19" trinitron for $210 (US). The aperture grill lines are commonly unsettling, although they didn't bother me in the 1+ year I had it.
Upgraded to a Cornerstone 21/81 - and while this is an obsolete monitor (according to Cornerstone), it has excellent dot pitch (.22) & very good refresh. Besides, the price was great on UBID.
I suggest a .22 to .25, max 1600 X 1200 resolution for under $250 (US).
Usee the money you sav for a video card upgrade or have a party.
