i need to know the command to show fps in Q3a so i can c the differene between when i run my cpu at 433 and 48

just press the ~ key and type timedemo 1
then press enter and type demo demo001
and a enter again..

here u go, now let the damn card SUFFER!!!

Press the tilde key (~) to get console window:

Then type in: cg_drawfps 1

This will display your FPS in top right of the screen.

Or you could go to config file in the baseq.dir in youre quake3 folder, open it up with wordpad find the fps setting and change it to 1 and save. If youre feeling brave then make a backup of the config file and have a play with the settings to see what you like. For instance I change the Hunkomegs setting to 128 which is half the total of my system memory.
