    increasing agp speed

    How do i increase my agp slot to 4x and is it worth it with a voodoo banshee?

    You will need a mobo capable of 4x; there is no software upgrade. And no, don't think the Banshee will make use of it anyways.

    I believe the banchee is only 1X AGP, it acts like a PCI card, so I'd say it's not gonna make a difference with a voodoo banchee

    My cousin has his computer at 2x with the same card and half-life runs at 44fps as opposed to 33fps (average) in 1x. He doesn't know how to change the agp speed because someone else did it for him. I studied his computer to see what setting changed but didn't find anything...

    The AGP speed should default to the mobo's default speed and video card in the slot. If for example, you have a 2x mobo and stick in a 1x agp card, then the card will only run at 1x, even though the specs of the mobo are 2x.

    check in the bios, there is quite often a setting for the agp speed,i.e. 1x,2x,4x
