I need the best card for $100-$250($cdn)?

I am building a system with an Athlon 700mhz and 128Mb 133mhz ram. I play games like Q2 and RainbowSix and want the best card I can find between $100-$250($cdn). Any Suggestions?

you can buy a geforce for $200 US dollars... so thats like i dunno- close to 250 canada.... i think.,....... defiantly get a geforce if you could.... if not a tnt2 ultra would be another VERY good choice

TNT2 ultra best choice, or G400max. although you could probebly get a 32meg ultra for less then the G400max. do some research on what you want, and the diff. between these 2 cards.

I have a TNT M64. Should i consider upgrading as i have just downloaded the latest detonator drivers 3.68. I get some freeze frames when playing NHL 2000. Can i tweak the card?

i think ur best choice for now is a TNT2 Ultra, but u mite be able to find a GeForce SDR at that price range

If you are talking Q2 (and I think Rainbow6 uses the Q2 engine), then the Voodoo3 will be the best. It supoports 3DNow in Quake2 for a pretty good jump in performance. If you can wait a bit the Voodoo4 might work too. Anand disabled half a Voodoo5 with beta drivers and showed the Voodoo4 at 166Mhz beat the Voodoo3 350 without any trouble and ran really good in games like UT. It should smoke in Quake2 and 3 for a resonable price.

Right now the fastst for about your price is a GeForce256 DDR ($202US+S&H) and can overclock descent (about 150/350), putting its performance very close to the GeForce2 GTS (at atock speeds) in 32bit color or resolutions at 800x600 or less (the GTS is hamstrung by the 333Mhz DDR).

don't consider a geforce, if you want to stay in that price range. this comes from a fellow canadian.

your best bet is a TNT2 Ultra or Voodoo3, which range in the 200-250 canadian. 250 US equals about 400 canadian. ****ty, eh?
