I saw many threads in which you sad that you have V3 2000@175.
I'm asking how did you do that,'cause mine over 166 MHz freeze.
Should I cool it ? How ?

You will probably hit 175mhz only if you have the hyundai ram on the card with the 486 fan. The siemens ram from what I've read can only handle up to around 170mhz.
You can also buy purpose made fans for video card cooling. Don't really know much about them, but I'm sure some other guys around here can help you.
Personally, I'm running a 120mm case fan blowing down on my V3, and I'm running at 175 with it. I also had problems @ 166 without cooling.

Bandit: For me no....... I tried overclocking my V3 2000 from 143 to 166 and I only got a 1 fps difference (i think non at all) in half life. I'll try to take the Q3 fps soon but I doubt it'll be significant (my guess). I don't its useful to overclock right now if your games still work great. I mean, I get 45 fps in Q3 on normal mode and 43 fps on Custom 800x600 (i think) and high detail and that's more than enough for me. I was able to bear my old CL RIVA TNT for quite some time but the switch to v3 made a huge jump. If your V3 can't take the games head on then overclock it. If not it'll be fine just as it is.
bandit:
Overclocking your V3 depends on your CPU. I happen to have a K-6 2 500mhz/128MB RAM around the house with a V3 2k and I tested it in Q3A a while ago on 170mhz clock speed. I only got 2 fps increase. This means that the cpu is generally limiting the speed of the video card. If you can get more than 5fps increase on your system then go ahead overclock it but if you only get 5fps or less then its not worth the trouble (and risk).
I run mine at 170 with nooothing....it runs fine. (this is the 143 2000 version). never crashed on me...and its hot as hell in the office during the day....go figure.
I'm running my Voodoo3 2000 AGP at 183MHz!! I just have a little Tennmax V3 Stealth heatsink/fan on it. I haven't tried any higher but I'm going for 190+. I think the biggest reason I'm able to go that high is because I have 6ns Hyundai ram. Not bad for an $85 card performing equal or better than a $200 card (Voodoo3 3500).
