    GeForce 2, S3TC and UT

    GeForce 2 supports S3TC in hardware. Does anyone have any ideas on how to use it in UT, so that I can use the compressed textures on UT's Disc 2? Also, while /r_ext_compress_textures works in Quake 3 to turn on S3TC, special S3TC-only levels like the ones at http://209.10.46.180/default.asp?men...menu=exclusive do not work. The entire level looks like the holodeck. Do I have to use 5.16 reference drivers? If anyone has an answer or comment, please respond. Thanks.

    Ok, I found the special executable for Quake 3 to run the specialized S3 levels. A bit jumpy at times. Probably because the PK3 files are pretty big and I only have 128MB; 256MB and it probably won't stutter.

    However, I have no clues about Unreal Tournament. Please help if you can.

    S3TC only works with the MeTal drivers in UT.
    we have to wait to see if NVidia and S3 are going to work out something together, I'd say it's probably gonna be in the works.
    Hpefully maybe UT programmers will make it available to us. 'Cus it wasn't in the code.
