I have a geforce DDR Prophet, and it seems like some games have terible tearing where there is lots of light and effects and i am moving fast. Is there a way to get rid of this? Also, it seemed the newest drivers (5.28 or something) got rid of that, though decreased performance. Is there a way around that as well?
Try turning v-sync back on; it sounds like frames are being displayed before the previous frame has completely been drawn. AFAIK, the "leaked" 5.13 drivers are the most current.

One "side-effect" of turning v-sync back on is your fps scores will definitely be lower, so don't be disappointed about that if the image quality is better. I always keep mine off and I get some tearing; not too terribly much but noticable.
