Voodoo3 3k Tv-out problem

Problem is that when I select it to output to the tv the monitor goes dead even though I selected to have both the monitor and tv to work. And when I move the resolution up to 800 x 600 the monitor finally comes back on but is all garbled like when the refresh is set wrong. What the heck is going on? Do I just have the wrong monitor.inf file selected or what? and if so is there a way to manually find the right settings for the monitor, I made the mistake of buying a Voxon II monitor for $50 from a friend of mine just to find out they went out of business and there are no monitor.inf files for them in win98.

One more question while im at it.... How come I cant select 800x600 res when I have a plug and play monitor selected??

when you use the TV out first set you monitor res to 640x480 then enable the output to TV
this is because the TV can only handle something around 640x480

I already did that, when I have it set to 640x480 and click on the tv output my monitor goes blank but the tv works. If I switch it to 800x600 while its on the tv the monitor comes back but is all garbled.
