Which vid card should I get? V3 3K or Viper Ultra

Ok here is what i've got:
AMD k6-2 400
Tekram P5mvp-A4 at 100mhz 512k cache(VIA MVP PCIset... gulp)
soon to have 128mb PC100 SDRAM
Guillemot POS Phoenix 16mb PCI (voodoo banshee)
8.4GB western digital UDMA-33


So what video card should I get the 3dfx v3 3000 or the Diamond Viper Ultra? I've heard that the viper has some really good drivers for it and I've had some extremely bad experience with finding FULLY FUNCTIONING drivers for my current card!!! ..... Most benchmarks I've seen show the viper to be just a bit behind the 3000, but I wouldn't mind losing out a bit on performace for a strong WORKING video card!! DAMMIT! ahem.... anyway since I dont know a whole lot about the v3 3000 and since certain video cards work better with diff systems I thought I'd just ask what you all think. So... what do you think?

Try the reference drivers from 3dfx http://www.3dfxgamers.com/view.asp?PAGE=VBdrivers and see if they help at all.

As for what to get otherwise... I've seen many people complain of issues with the TNT2u and the K6-2's - that's not to say many people also use them well, just that it's something to be careful of. Also, I'd really suggest, if you can afford it, the GeForce ddr. If you want to go improvement, that's the route...

I really haven't tried the V3 3000 but I loved my TNT2 Ultra. Great drivers and great speed and nice game compatibility. You probably can't go wrong either way.

I have a TNT2 non-ultra and I can say I'm very happy with the card.

If I were you I'd try to upgrade to a Geforce or wait a while for something even better to see a more noticable improvement. Of course, if some of your fav games aren't as playalbe as you'd like, them upgrade now.

I have a Creative Labs TNT2 and no problems.
My roommate has a Diamond TNT2 Ultra and nothing but problems.
