    VooDoo2 1000

I am at wit's end with 3dfx. I'm currently trying to install a VooDoo2 1000 on my computer with little luck. I have DirectX7 and I installed the V2 DX7 beta drivers from 3dfx and while I am able to run the Formula 1 demo game on the driver cd, I cannot open other games. Everytime I try I get the blue screen. When I open the VooDoo2 properties tab in Display, it either freezes up, gives me the blue screen, or the screen goes all funny. In the beginning I had Direct X 6.1 and used the divers on the Cd for DX6.1 but with similar results. What could I be doing wrong and is there any way I can fix it?
    Thank you

Can't say I've ever owned a Voodoo2...but here's what I can say. If you bought the STB/3dfx proprietary part (the one on the orange box with the eyes) then that may be part of the problem. It may have something to do with memory or CPU too, gimme some specs to work with.

    I believe that V2 1000 is actually the 3dfx Velocity 100,which is a 8Mb V3 2000(a smaller version).

No SB is not manufacturing the older Voodoo2 12MB PCI card under the name of Voodoo2 1000. This is the only card officially supported by 3DFX. All the others must get support and drivers from the individual manufacturers. Other Than that it is a standard Voodoo2 card, just boxed a little differant.
