I used to own a #9 s3 virge dx-based card...ugh. That truly was the world's first 3d DE-celerator. But that was back in '96 so they may have improved things. Unless you can get one for ultra-cheap, I would recommend any card based on tnt2/geforce, v3/v4/v5 or maybe s3 savage2000. I currently own a tnt2u card and will probably upgrade as soon as nVidia and 3dfx come out with their next-gen cards.
ASUS Rampage III Formula Intel X58, Intel Core i7-930 @ 3.6, Patriot Viper II Sector 7 Edition 12GB, Galaxy Geforce GTX 680 SLI, LITE-ON Internal Blu-ray Burner 12X, Dell UltraSharp U2711 IPS-Panel Black 27" 6ms, Corsair Hydro Series H100, ENERMAX SGALAXY EVO EGX1250EWT, Corsair Obsidian 800D, Windows 7 x64
i heard that #9 video cards really suck for playing games cuz they mess up the image alot and are just plain slow. i've never tried it but if you're gonna use it for word processing, then they're no point in buying a high-end GeForce.
