    G400 and Delta Force 2

Anyone having problems with this setup? The game looks great, but runs really choppy on the following system even at 800x600
    AMD K6-3 400mhz
    128MB Micron PC-100 RAM
    Matrox G400 Single Head 32MB
    SB Live! Value
10.5GB IBM DMA 66 Hard Drive
    Epox MVP3G2
    Windows 98SE
    DirectX 7.0

It runs slow regardless of whether I set it to software or hardware acceleration.

    Ok I got the following system;
    AMD Athlon 550Mhz
    128MB PC-100 Ram
    Matrox G400 MAX (Dual Head)
    SB Live! Value
15.4 GB IBM DMA 66 Hard Drive
    Windows 98SE
    DirectX 7.0
I am having similar problems to you terence in that when I play Half Life(Online) it all goes belly up.It seems strange that we both have very similar set ups.I have found that the Matrox and the SB Live! are sharing an IRQ(11).Could this be the problem? I havent been able to sort it out yet or change IRQ for either card..no manual configuration allowed.
Can anyone help me with this one??
Sorry I havent been of help terence but it just looks very strange both of us having similar probs with such similar systems!

Delta force 2 seems to require a lot of cpu, I have a AMD K6-2 350 and it is just playable at 640*480 with turbo on. There can be a problem with a shared IRQ but I thought 3dfx V3 was the only card that had a problem with that. I disabled my com ports since I have an internal modem and got rid of that problem.

How is the game running at 640*480, I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU, but maybe i need to go for K6-3 450 right away ?

As for changing IRQ, if it's not possible in W98 you probably have to change it in your BIOS manually.

The game runs smoothly at 640x480, but who really wants to play any first person shooter at that resolution. Christianl you're right about the game in that it requires a powerful system. But I get the same results on a K6-2 450 with a Viper V770 and a Pentium III 450 also with a Viper V770.

I think that Novalogic(the makers) brang it out a bit to early and didnt totally test it.
    I have a Celeron 400@ 500 wit pc-100 64 5gb h/d
and @ 640x480 it is pretty good but a bit choppy with the scope.
    @ 800x600 its just a bit different.

This game is kickass, I just wish that novalogic would have taken the time to make sure it ran well with modern hardware. Even at 640x480 I enjoy the game. Lets hope they can fix the problem.

    I have P3-550, 384 ram, GeForce
I can play Kingpin, Driver, Rogue Spear, etc.
at 1600x1200 32bit smooth as silk!

    Delta Force2 - struggles at 1024x768

I would have to say it's the software.
