    AGP Shutdown problem

I am having trouble with the Diamond Stealth III S540 AGP card. I have been
able to install the drivers [after couple of attempts], however I canít shut the
    computer down properly.
When I try to Shutdown, the screen goes to black and the computer continues to
run. I have to switch it off. Then, of course, on startup it has to go through the
Scandisk routine because it was not properly shut down.

I have had nothing but trouble with this motherboard. When I first purchased it, I
got a generic brand AGP board that I eventually gave up on. Everybody told me
how good the Asus board was, so I assumed the trouble was with the AGP card.
The motherboard has been back to Asus and they said everything was OK. Now
    another AGP card wonít work.

I am also posting this message in the Windows 98 forum and Support forum.

What chipset does your mobo use. If its the MVP3 chipset you'll need the via 4in1 driver which installs an updated driver for Windows 9x. It solved most of my AGP problems.

You better check their website then. If they don't have an AGP driver for Windows 98 you should contact their tech support and explain your problem. That's the only thing I can think of.
