nothing but lines at startup?

hi,
whenever i bootup my putor i get nothing but horizontal lines across the screen untill windows98 loads. then the screen is ok. i have been experimenting with some video cards. that is when the problem started. can anyone help?

I guess your monitor is being overloaded by the display card that you have popped in. Very bad idea to let it continue.

Try using a new monitor(good model) and see if it works. If problems still persist e-mail me.

MY MONITOR IS A AOC SPECTRUM 5GLR 15", VIDEO CARD IS VOODOO BANSHEE. I PUT THE OLD CARD BACK IN AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.HOPE I DIDN'T MESS UP MY MONITOR,IT'S ONLY A YEAR OLD.THANKS FOR THE REPLY ,I'LL CHECK IT OUT.
