    Voodoo 2 8Mb vs Voodoo3 2000 PCI 16Mb

    I have two questions:

1: Is it a big difference between 8Mb and 16Mb on the videocard?

2: Has anyone compared V2 and V3(PCI version)? If so what did you think?

    Hey man!

    I had a voodoo2 12mb performing 115fps in quake1 timedemo 1

My new Voodoo3 3000 are performing 164fps same timedemo.

There u have the answer !

First of all the Voodoo2 is an accelerator card on it's own and therefore still needs the mainvideocard to run 2D applications.

The Voodoo3 2000 all on it's own does both tasks... 2D and 3D!

Without batting an eye, hands down... GET A VOODOO3 2000 PCI!

If you're willing to spend a little more money... the 3Dfx Voodoo3 3000 PCI has been released but is not yet on the 3Dfx website!
