    CPU - Matrox v. TNT and V3

I've read that TNT cards are very CPU intensive and Voodoo cards use very little CPU. Does anyone know how much burden Matrox G200 and G400 cards put on the CPU?

I'd say about as much as a TNT. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Id agree with that. The TNT2 and G400 are both pretty CPU intensive. Really, if you have a slower CPU, youre better off with a Voodoo3.

In my opinion, the G400 seems to have more headroom than the TNT2, though. That is, the faster your processor, the faster the G400 will go, whereas the TNT2 will likely hit its maximum potential around 550-600MHz. So, if you plan on upgrading to a faster CPU later (maybe an Athlon 700?), then the G400 will likely be able to grow into it better than the TNT2.
