TNT with 16 Bpps?

It seems that the 24 Bits is not availabled? Isn't 24 bits better than 16 bits? Well, 32 bits slows down my desktop. I am currently having Asus 3400 TnT. Anyone pse help.

32 is '24' bit color... there are 8 bits added for what they call 'alpha' information.
This creates a 32 bit value that is commonly called 32 bit color...

Honestly I can not see the difference between 16 and 24 bit colour.
Am I blind or something ?

I guess you can only see difference when you play games in 32 bits colors. You can see the difference in texture. That's what I think...

You cannot tell the difference between 16 and 32-bit in windoze because its just not there most of the time. Icons use 8-bit color for the most part, and most applications use 8 or 16-bit color for their splash screen and graphics. Most digital pictures are already compressed with Jpeg or Gif compression, which automatically cuts the number of colors in the image tremendously. You dont need 32-bit because nothing 2d on your computer requires it. Try scanning an image in as a 24-bit bitmap (make sure it contains LOTS of colors and gradients). Then switch between 32 and 16-bit. Youll see the difference.
