I had not given this much thought, but here is what I came up with using 3dMark99 MAX.
This is with CEL 366@412... (FSB 75, AGP=1/1).... VIDEO CARD = V550 (TNT)

    Video BIOS cached:
    3D marks 3473
    CPU marks 3690

Video BIOS not cached (higher CPU score)
    3D marks 3494
    CPU marks 3969

I can only speculate that with the FSB at 75, I get better performance without
caching the BIOS.. Beacause, when I take the 366 to 550 (FSB = 100) I get:

    Video BIOS cached:
    3D marks 4397
    CPU marks 5301

    Video BIOS not cached)
    3D marks 4390
    CPU marks 5309

    No significant differance....

    I'm going to see if I can run my V770 (TNT2) non-ultra at AGP = 1/1 (100),
    and see what happens..

People, these are old legacy settings that have absolutely no effect (except to eat up system cache). These are from the time when the system BIOS was the go-between for all system devices. This setting would allow the video BIOS to be cached, and therefore more quickly accessable. Nowadays, the operating system can talk directly to the video card, so this has absolutely no effect.

MadCat, I hear what you are saying, and I was not worried about it till DaMan posed the question.. However, changing the setting, does change the numbers, so there is some effect..

I would really be interested in more information about how the operating system talks directly to the video card.. is this through the AGP, PCI or what?
