    Wifi router connections

Suppose one works for a small company which uses Verizon for broadband internet access. The modem is connected to a network, so that any computer connected to the network has internet access. All connections are via Ethernet.

If someone working at this hypothetical company brought in a typical consumer household wifi router, and connected it to the Ethernet line in his office, would that then be able to provide wifi internet access?

In theory, the wifi router should work.

Are you sure they don't have a wired router already?
