    jimbo1763,
Which version of Linux Mint are you testing anyways?
Linux Mint Debian, Linux Mint 16: Cinnamon, Mate, Mate KDE, Mate XFCE...

I settled into Linux Mint 16. Admittedly, that is mostly because it is the one I was trying when I finally got that Broadcom wireless card to run. The machine is reasonably "perky" with it.

I may try others as well. What I mostly wanted to do was to take Linux for a test run to learn something about it and see how difficult (or different) it is to operate.

Try a few. One may end up liking it or disliking it simply depending on the distro and/or DE (Desktop Environment).

I generally avoid rolling releases and stick to those with LTS (Long Term Support) since having the DE or features being changed after getting everything "just so" is quite annoying.

    "I know nothing."
    Cheers.
