Thumbs up [RESOLVED] Interesting Problem With New Gateway

Hello again! A friend brought me a brand new Gateway SX2110G computer, and wants win8 tossed out and Win7 Ultimate installed. Problem is, I cannot get the machine to boot from the DVD. I even bring up the boot menu and try to do it manually but the option for DVD is not there. The only option it gives me is the Windows Manager. I know the DVD is bootable because I just tested it on two machines. Boots fine. Anyone have an idea how to get these machines to see a boot disk?

EDIT: Should I enable LAUNCH CSM?

Thanx, Shinma! I learned a lot. BUT....there is no legacy boot option in the bios. I can and did disable secure boot, but it made no difference. Without a legacy boot option it will not recognize the DVD rom and boot from it.

EDIT: Should I enable LAUNCH CSM ALWAYS?

Success!! I found out the CSM is legacy, so problem solved! Thank you so much, Shinma. Good to know you're still here and keeping a watchful eye on the place. Much appreciated.
