    Thumbs up [RESOLVED] seagate back up plus 4tb

    saw a deal for Backup Plus Desktop Drive STCA4000100
    but it uses 3.0 usb. is the speed for 2.0 is better or 3.0? Then i read that some computers don't work with 2.0 or 3.0. I am confused. Please help!

    Higher possible transfer rate with USB 3.0
    To actually utilize USB 3 speeds,
    Connected computer needs to have a functional USB 3.0 port(s).

    Due to design, quality control... more chance of issues with USB 3.0 than USB 2.0

    Perhaps more importantly, your operating system needs to be later than Windows XP in order to see a usb drive of 3T or 4T capacity. Vista, Win 7, Win 8 or any recent linux distro are okay, but XP is not.

    Thanks. I have a windows 7. And i actually got it. And its working. whew!
