    Found a great utility for bootable flash drives - Rufus

    Finally took the plunge to make my first bootable usb flash drive. Googling found a program called Rufus. It claims to be faster than other programs like UNetbootin, and it was quick, and easy, putting Linux Mint onto a flash drive. And it's open source. No more faffing about with floppy drives for flashing bios now, or even most installs. It's far faster than burning a disk.

    I only use bootable flash drives for BIOS updates and OS installs, so I guess I'm still out of date.

    UNetbootin used to be good but now I find I can't use it for any Linux distro. I use Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.9.8 (which I think I found on Ubuntu's site). It works fine but I will try out Rufus as well. Always helps to have a backup!

    Good find! I will be giving this a try very soon. I've not been having much joy with UNetbootin lately.
