Thumbs up [RESOLVED] GRAPHIC CARDS INFO PCI-E and PCI E 2.0

I am very confused about the type of video card I should consider for my PC. I have an option of PCI, PCI-E and PCI-E 16. It seems the PCI E 16 is the most recent introduction. However, looking at the types of cards out there I am not sure if a PCI E - 16 2.0 will work. There is alos a PCI E 16.2.1 that adds to the confusion. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Costco ZT with a phenom quad core, 8 mg of ram and 1 tb drive. Currently has an integrated video card I want to upgrade to either a 512 or 1 mb. Thoughts on the the best video card would also be appreciated.

Thank you for your time in responding. Respecfully,

    Robert W.

You would want to use a PCIe 16x card if your system has the slot for it. Don't worry too much about the 2.0, 2.1 etc. You also need to look at the power rating of your power supply, and make sure it meets or exceeds the requirements of the card you want.

Since you left out budget and other details,
Click on the link below to determine video card selection.

After deciding on your PCI-E video card,
Following link may be used to calculate power requirements of your system.
    "I know nothing."
    Cheers.
