Well I need a new card. This one give me crappy fps in my favorite MMO, Drop under 10 fps in key area now whit the new update. I run the game at 1650x1050 Set at Quality setting. From the web I found this info:
BFG 7950 OC GT 512M DDR3
565MHz on the graphics core
715MHz (1.43GHz effective) on the memory witch is DDR3
I have a crosshair Mobo which I don't plan to replace whit SLI590 bridge. I know it does not support DX10 but I want to keep it. Current CPU is AMD 4800+ Dual core 65W (2.5Ghz).
I'm looking for suggestion to get a better card that will work on this Mobo/cpu combo, give me better FPS at the same Resolution. Use or new, Water cool or fan. The game does not support SLI.
I have notice that the game does not use the dual core. Only 1 core is running at 100%. There are option to tweak the game, that I tried and it changed nothing. Hum maybe I already have a bottleneck problem whit my current video card.
I stop following hardware after I build this system. OK so I learn that dx 10 and dx 11 are for vista and win 7. Are those video card that state DX11 compatible whit my win XP system on DX 9c.
I'm dual booting Win XP (DX 9) and Win 7 Ultimate x64 (DX 11) and have tested using 9800GX2 and 8800 Ultra (DX10 cards) without any any issues. My GTX295 is under RMA and I can't remember whether I have tested it with Win XP.
Using:
Asus Crosshair IV
Phenom IIX4 955 running at 3.6Ghz using Turbo Unlocker.
4GB Ram
So far, Win 7 x64 is very compatible with old software and I rarely boot to Win XP.
If price is not an issue, you have a good PSU and a well ventilated casing get a GTX 480. I'm waiting for Nvidia to release GTX 485 with 512 CUDA cores.
I doubt there will be any issues in getting that card to run on your PC since Nvidia still provides GeForce 400 series drivers for Windows XP.

Well I got a BFG GTX 260 Maxcore, and I'm satisfied. I would have taken a more recent one, but I did'nt want to update the CPU,Ram and Mobo. Well not this year. Over all both core went up in use about 25%, but they still show 20% and 45% each. System is running at around 2 Gig of memory. In the very crowded area the card was more fluid and drop to 14 fps. it's not much but the connection drop to a 900ms ping witch has impact on the video. Still the video was more fliud then before. So far I don't see a bottle neck between the CPU and GPU.
