    9600GSO vs. 9600GSO

My friend was asking which one of the 2 9600GSO's is better. He's choosing between the 512MB (48 core @650, 256-bit memory @1.4 GHz) and 384MB (96 core @550, 192-bit memory @1.6 GHz). Told him to get the 9600GT instead but he says that he'd be getting the GSO cheap ($40) because it's on sale in some shop. What do you think I should tell him?

The 9600gt with 64 shaders would be better then both in games, but, the 9600gso with 96shaders would be better with programs using cuda, such as folding for example.
