[RESOLVED] 2Gb of Ram faulty?!

Ok so i put my new Heatsink in suddenly about 2 days later my RAM dyed. ITs a Kingston KVR8002N6k2/2GB stick and it dyed.. I turned on the computer and
it just kept restarting i then opened the box and the RAM was really hot and when i took out this ram the computer started happily.
Any ideas?

Have you over-volted your ram? Kingston has a lifetime warranty, so, just rma that ram stick.

Nope havn't over-volted anything everything was on default.
I am going to get it replaced at comp fair this weekend as i got a 1yr dealer warranty.

Try swap the RAM in different slots and make sure the RAM slots are free of dust.

Also, unplug the power cord and holding down the power button over 20 seconds to discharge and reset the PC.

Then connect the power cord back and see if PC works with the 4 GB RAM again.

Got a replacement from the dealer... they were very curious of it being burnt of the sticker, well its all good now.
