I have te standard configuration, and is 13 months old (one month past warrenty of course). The keyboard and touch pad in the last month have started to develop the problem of sluggistness. To the point where I have to bang on the keys, orthe pad. If I type normally, some characters do not appear. It is happening right NOW. No new programs have been added. Please help. phil
Google for the parts and see if an outside supplier is cheaper than toshiba. Then consider if the cost is worthwhile compared to the cost of a new laptop minus the resale value of your laptop (parts).
The keyboard is very easy to change; touchpad is not likely too much harder. Disassembly guides are available if you decide to do it.
Thanks for reply, I have had laptop keyboard go bad and had to replace myself. What are the odds that both the keyboard and touchpqaqd are going bad at same time. I have to strike the keys and pad very hard.
If you connect an external keyboard and mouse, does the problem go away?
Every notebook can do this. You can use a usb keyboard if your notebook does not have a PS/2 port for a keyboard. The point of this is to ensure that it's hardware and not some software issue.
