    Compaq pp2140 shuts itself off

I have a Compaq pp2140 laptop running win XP pro 2002 and I have started to have major issues with the machine just cutting off. It started while running powerpoint presentations. The maching would run for a while the the battery light would flash and it will shut down. The battery says it is 100% and the A/C is plugged in and the light is on for A/c power. Any ideas whats up?

Researched and found this for the Compaq pp2140:
The Problem is with the heat sink theres a design flaw that causes the nuts that are soldered into the motherboard to come loose, the cpu overheats and shuts off. Compaq sells a repair kit for 40 dollars.

    Battery may also be dead/dying.
