Is a wide 20" monitor actually a widen 17" ??

I am trying to decide between a 22" and a 20" widescreen LCD and wondering - is the hight of 20" widescreen panels actually the same as the one of a normal 17" LCDs ?

Actual screen only height of 17" 5:4 screen should be around: 10.6189
Actual *reported* screen only height of a Acer AL2016W 20" 16:10: 10.625
