Anyone know why the new Voodoo3 doesnt use the agp bus on its new cards?
i've read the reviews on the new voodoo 3 and they all have explained how the v3 is an agp slot card, but doesnt use the bus speed? why even make an agp card? anyone know anything to help me gain some knowledge on this subject? i'm looking to get a v3 card within the next 3 days....need help?
3Dfx is still basing everything on V2. V3 is a souped up V2. This was a PCI part so you'll get a PCI spec interface. They didn't have time (what with TNT out now and TNT2 on the horizon) to R and D an adequate successor to V2. Too bad, I was really looking forward to seeing 3Dfx's new technology. At this rate, they'll never catch up to NVidia. Again too bad, cause VooDoo 1 and 2 were incredible cards. I hope V4 can pull them out of this rut.
