Most laptop hard drives have standardized dimensions. Yours may have a caddy that it fits in-you will see this, if it does, when you take it out. Don't lose the caddy if it does-you will need it when you slide in the new drive.
What is the capacity of your current drive, and what are you looking to go to?

You ought to be okay. In fact, you should see a speed boost from that 5400 rpm drive.
