Looking To Buy New DVD-RW Drive
Hey, I'm looking to buy a new DVD-RW Drive for my PC, but I cant really find one
I currently have a Pioneer 109 BLACK DVD-RW drive. It's a good writer but it does struggle, on the up side it writes to Dual Layer discs, which is great for me when making back-ups and saves me hard drive space
I would like to get another Pioneer Drive, unless there is another make MUCH better out. I personally wanted a Sony drive to begin with but my bro told me Pioneer was better I would prefer it be a Dual Layer writer/reader and it MUST be in black, I must stress this. Spent a lot of time fixing up my PC, and face it, a white drive in with a black case and everything else black it's just silly

The Benq DW1655 is pretty solid.
Sony repackages LG and other brands of drives, depending on the model.
you can check out reviews here: http://www.cdrinfo.com/

Hmm it looks quite good, but now I'm thinking I might wait for the Pioneer Blu-ray and HD DVD Hybrid Drive, that would be shweeet... But expensive
I have my eye on two LG drives, however I cant figure out which one is better, there both almost the same, just one has DVD-RAM compatibility and the other doesnt, here are the links:

I wouldn't wait around for bluray or HDDVD. the drives and media are going to be expensive, plus there is no guarantee you'll be able to burn BD or HDDVD movies.

just saw your edit. i wouldn't bother about DVDRAM support. I don't know of anyone that really uses it.
no matter what you choose, look up the reviews. I chose the DW1655 because it has good media compatibility among other things. It even beats out the Plextor 760A on cdrinfo.com
