problem with cdrom and cdrw

had a problem with both the cdrom and cdrw today.
when i put the cd in the cdrom,and it opens up,a small window on the left comes up,likes its transferring files,but i think it is auto play.
if i click to open one of the files,several windows comes up,but i cant get rid of them,i have to reboot.also if i transfer a file from the cd to the desktop,take cd out,open the file,it then says no cd in cdrom.
i loaded a game called battle of britain yesterday,im wondering if it has starforce protection on it?
i have stayed away from starforce games,but because this is an older game recently redone,i didnt think about it.
one chap said how to find out if you have starforce in the system,is to go to
device manager/view/show hidden files/then non plug&play.
done that,and there is a icon called"AMON" with a yellow mark on it,all of the other icons are okay.
i dont know what AMON means,whether that is messing my cdrom drives,i dont know,or if its starforce.
hope someone can help me out on this problem?

just didnt have starforce in my plug&play devices,just the AMON problem,deleted that.
my cdrom seems okay now,whether that cured it,not sure.
