text msging between providers

ya i just switched from cingular to tmobile and i can't get text msgs from a friend with cingular....ones with tmobile i get right away...is there some kind of lag time right after switching companies or do i need to call either company and bytch em out?
(i dont know anyone else with cingular so i cant get anyone else to msg me to test if it's the person or the company)

I'd give it 48 hours for things to settle down, then get your friend to hassle Cingular about it if it still doesn't work. Remember that SMS isn't guaranteed to arrive, be timely, or have anything else that looks like reliability.

i notice sometimes it can take an hour for an sms to go through. it nice and random too

ahh i gave it 3 days since the switch and now i get the msg almost immediately. horray.
