RAID array for home use
Hi, all. I'm trying to find a 2.5 to 3 TB storage solution for files (mostly music) that I have at home. Right now I have about 1 TB on separate drives, but at the rate I'm downloading and recording live music I anticipate having around 2 TB in a couple of years, which is when I plan to give my entire live music collection to my brother for his 40th birthday. In the meantime I want to use myself as a guinea pig and see which storage solution works best. From what I've read so far it looks like RAID is the way to go, but I know very little about it. Does anyone know which would be the best combination of hardware/software? I'm currently using a Dell 600m laptop running Windows XP. Ideally what I'm looking for is something that's not too bulky, plug and play, quiet (since it's for music) and will allow me to use RAID level 5. And yes, I'll have fries with that. ;-)
Thanks a lot.
