VGN-A270P Hard drive removal - Can't get the keyboard off

How do you take the keyboard cover off to get to the hard drive?

I have removed all the screws on the back but there has to be a clip or hidden screw somewhere. I have been told that I need to take the speaker cover off 1st but can't seem to figure out how to do that either.

Thank you for any direction or guidance

    Thanks but not quite

Thank you for your suggestion but I had actually already found that link and there is no information about about the VGN models. I viewed a few of the other manuals hoping something would be simular but I have yet to find the secret.

Maybe I'll just rip the keyboard off and duct tape it back together.

    Thanks,

The most common method on notebooks is to carefully pry off the narrow strip above the keyboard and below the hinges. This usually reveals a couple of screws. The bottom of the keyboard usually has tabs that slip under the lower top cover.

Next you'll find the tiny ribbon cables from the keyboard. Where the ribbons connect to the motherboard, pull up on the rim of the connector. The rim will come up slightly and stay on the connector and the ribbon will slip out.

    Hope that helps.
