Recently I've heard strange sound coming from my HDD's from time to time (I got 2 WD HDD - 80GB & 200GB), I didn't which of the 2 causong it so I've installed several monitering apps. Those apps told me that the bigger HDD had major shifts in temparture, sometimes reaching 253C degrees! I've ran WD Daignostics and it told me that there's 8kb in bad sectors on that drive. I still got warranty for that drive, is 8kb bad sectors a reason to worry, do they even replace HDD for that amount of bad sectors?
