Wife's lappy I just got her for college. Nothing special, but got a great price on it with a free case and wireless mouse. She's quite happy with it and that's all that matters.
Got the pics off the retailers website, to lazy to go up stairs, pull it out of her case, grab my diggy and take actual pics. It looks just like the pics below.
Just for comedy value, I'll post a pic of my lappy when I get home
It's a complete POS - the screen is so dim it's barely visible, the door has broken off the DVD drive, picking it up too quickly usually causes a BSOD, there's a screw rattling round inside which miraculously hasn't shorted anything yet, and the sound has to muted because the speakers constantly amplify the sound of the hard drive, so they crackle continually.
Apart from that, it's fine though

Hey Candyman, I have the same Gateway model! I love it so far, starting to upgrade it for Vista though. Ordered a 5400 rpm HDD with 8mb cache and 2 GB of DDR2 PC5300. Should bump up the performance a bit.

This thread's still kicking? Well the Asus from page 1 is long gone, replaced with a Toshiba M200:
That's due for a replacement now as well (not terribly Vista-friendly), but I'm waiting for someone to do a convertible 12" 1400x1050 tablet with a Core 2 Duo chip inside. Any manufacturers wanna bite?
Well, so far this Gateway seems to do OK with Vista. I added a flash drive for 2 GB of ReadyBoost and that helped a bit too. Vista is a hungry beast...
