hi, our 28" widescreen we have downstairs is starting to go south, it turns off, sometimes doesnt want to turn on etc etc.
so anyway, its time for a new TV. my mum said that as long as the price is right we CAN get an LCD (after a lot of discussion about the benefits )
ive got my eye on THISHyundai 'ImageQuest' HQL260WR 26" LCD TV and first of all was wondering what you think of it.
but secondly i was wondering, what does normal TV look like on them since we dont have HDTV here yet? what about games consoles, id like to use my PS2 on it. and once again DVD's?
is there going to be such thing as HD-DVD players in the future? will i be able to use them on this tv?
thanks a lot,
Martin

HDTV is coming to my area in 2006 I think, but it’s only with Sky, im with cable. And if we change to sky I lose my cable broadband (and that’s not happening!!!)

Over here sky has more channels than our cable (including all the channels we have) but there customer support totally stinks. They have that many customers they don’t care anymore, my mates box died and he had to pay for a new one, mine died with a power surge and when we called them up they told us there was an engineer in our area and 30 mins later we had a new set top box installed!
Plus I couldn’t do without my Blueyonder broadband

Normal TV looks great on my 27" LCD, but only when you're sitting at least 2metres from the screen. It's not that it looks bad when you're closer, but it looks different. From 2 metres away, the picture is brighter and steadier than any CRT TV you could buy, so it's pretty cool. Mine works well with my PS2 too, and I have it hooked up to my PC for playing DVDs through the DVI port

Ahh cool. Ill probably take a trip into comet or currys anyway and demo some and see what I think.

Yeah, dammit! I paid £800 for mine back at Xmas, now it's selling for £450 !
You might be ok putting it about the fireplace - there is a guide out there on the internet on whether it is possible with your particular setup, and how to do it. I'll try and dig it out for you.
