    How to Pronounce ASUS?

Hi Everybody, I saw an ad on TV last night for an ASUS laptop, it's the first time I've ever seen a TV ad from them. At the end the voice over guy pronounced ASUS as - ah zoose, I've always thought it was ay sus, does anyone know for sure how it's meant to be pronounced as I've only ever seen it written and never even thought about pronunciation.

A lot depends on what part of the world you live in. Here in the Mid South (USA) it sounds like A suse

Your Down Under accent works for me though.

Everyone I know has always used "Ay Suss". I've been wrong before tho -- I went for years thinking "VER ih zon" instead of "ver EYE zon" before I finally heard an ad on TV.

My boss recently went to Taiwan. According to him, when he pulled out his Asus laptop, the locals there pronounced it more like, "Us-us".

But like most of you, I still pronounce it A-sus.

I remember the same question coming up a year or so ago. Someone even posted an audio clip of themselves pronouncing it

    A-sus for me, I'm afraid.

Not saying it's wrong, but 'Ay-zoos' sounds American, like 'eye-racky' (Iraqi) and 'jag-wahr' (Jaguar)

Yeah I've always pronounced it A-sus as well.

Oh well, many words get pronounced differently in different part of the world, I'll bet New-Zealanders probably pronounce it as "E-sis" or something equally kooky.
