Still alpha, but it brings back memories.

Nice, I'll definetly have to download that once I get my new computer built and I'm playing Doom 3. Doom and Doom 2 kept me occupied for hours and hours.

What is it DOOM Clasic exactly?
Did they update the maps to meet the new CPU/Video capabilities?

Spent many hours with DOOM & DOOM II in the early-mid 90's

I'd love to see Quake & Quake 2 redone. I played GLQuake withe my 2 Canopus Voodoo 2 cards in SLI - it looked really good I can't even imagine how good it might look with a couple of Geforce 6800's in the "new" SLI.

It is basically a project where they are making Doom 3 maps that are copies of the doom maps. It would be like playing Doom but with super beefed up graphics. The difficulty and play experience would be totally different of course since the enemies from Doom 3 are different and may be harder/easier to kill than their original counterparts. The weapons have different powers than their original counterparts, and your character can do way more as far as movement in Doom 3.

    Sounds great!

DOOM3 itself is pretty much the original DOOM, I mean in terms of the story line...like all the same (amd a few extra monsters), only that all the slaughtering tales place on Mars, and not on the moons of Mars...

I remember cutting class to finish a few levels in DOOM/DOOM2 ...heh...
