When i worked at Netto (Cheap crappy supermarket)

Every saturday there was nothing to do untill 4pm so we played football (The proper football or "soccer" to you yanks, sometimes the manager joined in to. Untill one day we carried on till 5 and he kicked the ball on the roof

We also used to get random toys in to sell and one month we got a load of electric scooters, when the shop closed and the manager wasnt around we lined em up and 4 of us raced around the store. Was terrific fun

My job has some periods of down time so I login to partypoker on occassion. It's solitaire or HWC browsing otherwise.

I supervise a restaurant, and had a problem with an assistant manager once playing those online casinos. It's a fairly profittable restaurant, bringing in $1.5-2 million a year, so there's always a reason to be active on the floor. It ended up letting in a whole bunch of spyware and malicious programs, and crashed the system one day. Took me about two days to convince the owners to install a spy program. I know there's many jobs out there that can get rather boring, but that's not the case where I work. We got rid of the employee when she continued to use the computer for her "personal" use, not knowing we were tracking every keystroke, website, even how many windows were open at any given time. Sometimes I wish I had a more laid back job, but then I remember how much they pay me without having any formal education!

Worst i done was carry pdf files of novels to work when i had an extremely boring accountancy job, snuck them in on floppies and hid them on a hidden folder on the file server.

I'm external helpdesk in a place I can't name where overpaid civil servants are playing tetris on their new P4 3.2GHz. They really needed that flat screen , you know... They don't even blush when you enter their office. Half of them have a "Game" directory on their home drive. And lots of them get depressed.

I can' even bring myself to play games at home.
I start feeling guilty that I could be doing something more useful.
I used to enjoy gaming, back in the old 1st edition Nintendo era,
but it just seems like a waste anymore.

We used to play Quake at work when it got slow.

No way. With 30 forums, there's ALWAYS something to do. Besides, I doubt my work PC could handle any but the most antiquated gaming software.
