This is my first LCD. I love it. I have always had 17 inch CRT monitors. This is awsome. Goes nicely with my new system. Anyway just wanted to share the exitement. I have played Doom3 and Farcry at max settings with no problems at all. I am using the DVI connector as well.

Just curiousity, what resolution do you guys run your LCD's at? I left it at 1280 X 1024 (Native) for now, but had to increase the font size a little because it was an eye chart. Just wondering. Games look great though.
Thanks,

1280X1024, LCD looks bad at anything but its native res.
it takes a while to get used to, funny when you see google is so small

I always run mine at 1280x1024. I used to run 1600x1200, but my corner desk has a large work area in front of the monitor stand so it is a bit too far back for that high of a resolution. I can read everything fine, and my perscription is 5 years old for my glasses.
LCDs look nice, but I like the freedom of using whatever resolution I want. My graphics card handles 1600x1200 in most games and trying to spot snipers on the hill to shoot them with my tank gun at a very long renge requires a good resolution. I also preffer FPS and watch a lot of DVDs. Few LCD can do either as good as a CTR, but if your monitro is 12ms in ALL colors then it likely will do just fine... if it desplays enough colors that is. I'm picky about image quality... and sound. LCD will get there eventually, but for me theyt are still a bit off.

Thanks for the replies guys! I will leave it in 1280x1024. Like I said, I just increased the font size by 10%. That helps a little. It does look awsome at that resolution. I have only tried BFV, Farcry and Doom3 so far. All looked awsome. As a matter of fact, I cranked the resolution up on most the games to make them look even better. I cant believe how big this new monitor is screen wise, and I have alot more room on my desktop. Anyway thanks guys. I am really happy with my new setup.

The problem with that is not all text while surfing the net can be resized. Then you have some text you can read and some you can't. It helps though. There is also something called Clear Type in Windows that sharpens up the text a bit. That is supposed to help LCDs too.

I actually had a customer complain last week about her LCD. Her old 17"crt screen was only inches back from the edge of her desk. Her new LCD is nearly a foot further back. Bringing it closer makes the desk look stupid. I'm still not exactly sure what she expected me to do about it.

Thanks for all the tips and info. Im starting to get used to it. I will try to find that clear type setting.
