This game at least for me just doesnt run good. The speed and gameplay are great, this is probably the best baseball game on pc yet, except for the fact that the framerates are choppy, no matter what i seem to do.
i even turn it down to 640x480 and it plays the same as 1024x768- so it doesnt seem to be a horsepower problem on my 9700p w/ barton 2500
It runs at a good speed but its contantly skips a frame or two, you can see it especially when the camera travels aroundthe stadium, c_H_o_p_p_y
its really pissin me off because the game is great otherwise, yet its pretty much unplayable- i cant have the ball skip a frame when im trying to hit it
Just wondering if anyone else has this game and if its the same for them, ive tried as much as i would think, nothing helps
Just a little input, this game runs great on my machine... i am using 2x 6800GT's, but I would definitely still expect it to run smooth on a 9700Pro... I wonder what the issue is... any patches or news from EA?
Compy 1 (Brand New as of 2/7/07):

2x Plextor DVD burners, SATA
Audigy2 w/ Klipsch 2.1's
Black Silverstone TJ-07
PC P&C 510W SLI PSU
Dell 30" LCD
i tried uninstalling all of my mainboard nforce drivers and also sound, reinstalled everything and it actually did help a bit.
But it still sticks, consistantly. Its weird, i know i have plenty of power, it runs the exact same at the lowest resolutions with eyecandy off. actually honestly i think it runs a little better at 1024x768 rather than 640x480
anyways, its something im not thinking of- that or some hardware i have or something.... argh....
edit- well i just tried the highest resolution- 1280x1024 with everything on high , no aa or af but still it runs the same, i was a little surprised because my 'old' 9700p with the barton kicks this games *** without sweatin
i cant deal with the sticking though- its very fast and it just looks like a frame skips here and there very quickly- its playable but it really plays with my eyes

The patch worked! i tried the patch #2 and now this game is smoother than silk!
i got it running at 1280x1024 4xAA 4xAF Max everything on my 9700p, i cant say enough about this game now- its by far the best baseball game out on pc, i havent tried sega's 2k5 for xbox though so i cant compare
this is so cool - good old 9700p doesnt even break a sweat, and the graphics are finally at the point were i dont need to see the player names to know whos up to bat
no kiddin- its amazing how it seems every game that comes out magically gets its problems fixed a month or two after release but eh....
but hey thanks for the suggestion man, i had looked for a patch before but i wasnt able to find it, it wasnt till you said it when i looked hard enough to see it
this game rocks though dont it? the last i had was mvp2003 and this one, only two installments later is night and day. A very polished game, and i love the mini games especially the batting.
Its funny i have a profile with the cubs, and now that theyre season began i just watch them on tv and play the same game on the pc last night was weird too because they lost 3-5 and i lost my game almost the same way at 3-7
they dont play as well as consoles. well at least they dont optimize them like they would with ps2 or xbox.
still i have no xbox or ps2 and 2k5 isnt on gamecube for some reason so im stuck with ea sports for now. But i guess EA bought all the rights to the NFL license and Visual Concepts bought the all of the MLB licenses so there will be no more EA MVP games for the next 7 years, MLB 2k6 should be on PC next year
