thanks for the welcome back and good to see you guys too!
I got deployed for a year and was away, and then life just kind of pulled me away from the hardware scene a bit after that. I'm running an almost 3 year old rig right now. Unheard of for me back in the day!
I'll never forget the days when overclocking a Celeron 300 to 450Mhz was THE thing to do though.
Women, jobs, military, family... they can take you out of the computer scene a bit sometimes.
I'm no longer a computer animator, I'm doing active duty special work for the army. I'm the non-commissioned officer in charge of a mobilization support team. In short, I get soldiers ready to be deployed.
I don't make games like I used to, and don't play them as often either. As such, that's why I can live with a system I built in 2002.
I did however upgrade my video card for Far Cry and Doom (GF 6800), so I'm not a lost cause, and I know there will be a time when this P4 2.5 @ 3Ghz just won't cut it.

Lol, me too mate. I just upgraded from a 1.4T-bird in the last week. Been out of the loop for so long I managed to order the wrong type of graphics card (AGP instead of PCI-e, whoops). But my new job's settling down a bit, so I'm looking to start playing HL2 and some CounterStrike again
Good to see you back mate,
Nick
